Why the UK needs to get its ‘Act’ together when it comes to cyber resilience

The European Commission recently mooted its proposals for a Cyber Resilience Act¹ which it hopes will ensure more secure hardware and software products for EU citizens.

Given digitisation has become widespread since the pandemic and IoT adoption is growing, this move is relatively unsurprising.

In his latest article for Information Age, xDesign’s CPTO Jeff Watkins talks about the need for the UK to prioritise its own legislation in the form of the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Bill (PSTI).

In his opinion, the PSTI Bill needs to move towards implementing statutory security requirements for the UK, whilst being broad enough to cover all digital devices and services.
